We are very sad to say that the Chair of TSD, Daudi Mwakawago, died of malaria recently. He worked very hard for the school and had great vision. He is already sorely missed. We are grateful to Nnyapule Madai for standing in, and will put a photo up as soon as we can.

We are delighted that the school has a new headteacher, who is full of energy and already loved by the pupils. They call her Mama Msafi - this means "Clean Mother", because she wants the school to be a clean and cared-for place. Her real name is Winifred Jeremia. We are really looking forward to working with her.

Matilda Ngonyani, known as Mama Matilda, is the Director of the TSD. She lives in the school grounds and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the TSD. She leads on fostering community relationships, donor management, improvement projects, manages Tanzanear staff, and has a wealth of wisdom and experience from having worked with deaf children for almost all her professional life.
